My Philosophy
Most people want to be healthy, but they believe that eating healthy has to be restrictive, difficult and that it mostly means they have to give up all the foods they love. I grew up in an Italian family and food was always at the center of every family gathering. Food was to be enjoyed and savored! Never was a calorie counted!
As the great Luciano Pavarotti once said: “One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating.”
Meals should be one of life’s pleasures! I want my clients to enjoy the food they are eating and hopefully as part of our journey together, they will discover some healthy foods that maybe they have never tried before and now really LOVE! And maybe even find that some of those foods that they thought they couldn’t have, are actually not off limits.
I do not focus on “good” vs. “bad” foods, nor do I focus on a laundry list of foods that you can’t eat. My philosophy when working with my clients is to “add in” a wide variety of healthy, delicious foods into their diet and over time that “crowds out” some of the less desirable foods.
